The venue was Hamilton. This was dictated by the limited number of balloon services in New Zealand. A total number of 5 commercial operators in the whole of NZ and this was the closest and most practical. Since this was entirely weather dependant we couldn't pre-book anything. So being close, 1.5hrs drive away was important.

Watch the video of how May Ann reacted when I revealed the surprise of where and how we were going to get married.
The balloon is a ‘Balony Kubicek BB60’. It was built in the Czech Republic and holds 6000cu/m of hot air inside it. It is 10 storeys high.
We rose to 2300ft and then had our ceremony. We then lowered to 500ft and flew due north for about 45 minutes. Landing safe and sound in a farmers field near Taupiri.
